The Murder of Rannita Williams
For this case I watched an episode of Web Of Lies. It’s season 6 episode 7, titled ‘Murder Goes Live.’
A young mother of three is killed by someone close to her.

Rannita “Nunu” Williams was a popular home decorator and mother of three from Caddo Heights, a tight knit community in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Her loved ones described her as a happy and popular person. Her clients loved her, and she was extremely good at her job. They said her only down fall was that she posted everything on social media, especially Facebook. Rannita was also not afraid to speak her mind, and her account would often get suspended because of the language used.
Wandering Eyes
Rannita was in a relationship with a man named Johnathan Robinson (some sources spell it as Jonathan). He had grown up in Shreveport, but had recently moved to Houston, Texas. Everyone in Rannita’s life liked Jonathan at first, and said that he was a father figure to her kids. Jonathan could also be controlling, and didn’t like that Rannita wasn’t afraid to stand up to him.
Rannita and Johnathan maintained a long distance relationship, but Rannita noticed that Johnathan didn’t just have eyes for her. He was seeing a woman in Houston named Shuricka, and he didn’t hide it. There had been times when Jonathan would leave early to back and be with Shuricka, and Rannita was over it. She broke off her relationship with Jonathan in the fall of 2017.
A New Man
After Rannita broke up with Johnathan, she decided to go to a friend’s birthday party, and celebrate her new single life. While she was out she met a man who also knew her cousin Trina. Trina described the man as a good person, and soon Rannita had a new man on her arm.
Rannita made her new relationship public, but she had to be cautious. Johnathan was from Shreveport, and he wasn’t happy with her dating a new man, even though he could date several women at one time. Johnathan would have spies text and call her while she was out with her new man.
In February 2018, Rannita went out with her friends and she posted where she was on her Facebook. As she should, she’s out with her friends having a good time. Johnathan showed up at the club, and according to the episode, he grabbed her by her neck. Johnathan had a criminal record of assault and domestic abuse battery. When he didn’t get what he wanted he’d retaliate in a violent way.
Rannita vs. Shurika
In March 2018, Shurika started talking about Rannita online. She said that she shouldn’t mess with Johnathan because he was hers. Rannita wanted to defend herself, so she created a Facebook Live talking about how Johnathan was still trying to get back with her.
Johnathan saw this, and because Rannita wasn’t afraid to stand up to him, he was going to make her pay.
The Facebook Live Murder
On April 12, 2018, Rannita, her brother and mom Anita, were all at home. Jonathan arrived at the home, pounded on the door, and kicked the door in. He was holding a gun, and immediately held them at gun point. Anita told Johnathan that she was going to call the police. Johnathan fired a shot that went just past Anita’s head. She was able to escape, and run to the neighbor’s house to call 911.
Johnathan told Rannita that she needed to go on Facebook Live and apologize to Shurika. Rannita went on her brother’s Facebook because her account was suspended again. Rannita said:
“Hey y’all, this is NuNu… I didn’t have any business doing all that. My page been blocked.””
Johnathan can be seen pacing back and forth with the shot gun. Johnathan eventually shot Rannita in the knee, and said “now apologize bitch.” Rannita apologized to Shurika. After Rannita apologized, her brother was able to escape unharmed.
Johnathan shot Rannita four times, and said “bitch, game over” and “bitch wanna be famous, I’ll make her famous.”
While all of this was going on, the police had arrived, and for an hour they would have a standoff with Johnathan. He fired several shots at the officers outside. He eventually came out after he speaking to Shurika on the phone. She convinced him to put the gun down and walk outside.
Johnathan was arrested for second degree murder, but he told the police he needed to be charged with first degree murder.

Conviction
The prosecution asked for the death penalty, but Rannita’s family didn’t want that. Jonathan was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole plus 100 years.
Johnathan told Rannita’s family:
““I’m so sorry I did what I did. I know I hurt a lot of people, myself, I hope one day you forgive me for what I did.”
Anita told Jonathan that she already forgave him.
FINAL THOUGHTS
A part of this video is shown in the episode. Not the murder obviously, but Johnathan’s cussing is heard, and Rannita tries to do whatever he wanted to save her life. I can’t even imagine what she went through that day, and you can hear the worry in her voice.
I’m heartbroken for her family, especially her kids. Her mom breaks down in the episode, and blames herself for running to the neighbor’s house that day. I believe that Jonathan would have killed Anita and her son too, if they hadn’t escaped. Jonathan deserves to be locked up forever, and I hope he truly is sorry for taking someone’s life in such a horrific way.
