The Murder of Seath Jackson

I watched an episode of Killer Women with Piers Morgan, where he interviewed Seath Jackson’s ex-girlfriend, and murderer, Amber Wright. Amber came off as very cold and unemoti0nal, which is what this case was. Seath was brutually murdered because of his tumultuous past with Amber. Just a warning, there are very graphic descriptions of how Seath was murdered that will be discussed in this post.

Background

Seath Jackson lived in Summerfield, Florida with his parents and two brothers. Seath was 15 years old and a sophomore in high school when he was murdered.

Seath started dating Amber Wright in 2010. Amber said on the episode with Piers Morgan that they dated for around 3 months, and that they constantly smoked weed, did cocaine and had sex. She also said they would constantly try to make each other jealous, and that it was very unhealthy. Seath’s parents were also asked about Amber, and Seath’s mom said Amber was nice as first, but she could tell that Amber was very manipulative.

Seath-Amber-Michael Drama

After Amber and Seath's relationship ended, Amber started dating an 18 year old named Michael Bargo. Seath found out, and started posting things about Amber online, calling her a slut and a drug addict. Amber also told Michael that Seath was abusive to her.

Seath also had drama with Amber’s step-brother named Kyle Hooper, who was also convicted of murdering Seath. It’s reported that Kyle was dating a girl named Alyssa, and that Kyle found out that Alyssa and Seath slept together. This was completely left out of the Piers Morgan episode, which I understand because it was more about Amber.

Murder

On April 17, 2011, Amber texted Seath that she wanted to talk to him in person about them getting back together. Seath said he would come meet her, but texted her saying “Amber if you have me jumped, I will never give you the time of day, so if I get jumped say goodbye all right. (I changed the spelling because Seath and Amber’s texting made me cringe). Seath then said he was walking up the hill, not knowing what was about to happen to him.

Amber said that Kyle was the first person to attack Seath, she said he hit him in the head with a wooden object, reported as being an ax handle. Justin Soto, another murderer, also joined in. Michael then joins in, and shoots Seath two times. Seath was somehow still alive and able to crawl out of the house and also make it to the road before Michael shoots him again.

The boys then drag Seath back inside and put him in the bathtub. Next, they broke Seath’s kneecaps, because Michael wanted to roll his body into a sleeping bag. (WHAT A PSYCHOPATH). Seath’s body is rolled into a sleeping bag, and they start a fire, burning Seath. It’s also reported that they stayed out there all night partying, watching Seath’s body burn.

Seath’s remains are finally put into paint buckets. Michael, Justin and Michael’s former step-father, then throw his remains down a rock quarry.

Piers asks Amber what she was doing when this was going on, and she said she and Charlie (the owner of the house), went into Charlie’s room and went to sleep until 11 or 12pm the next day. He seems to be taken aback by the fact that she was able to sleep when her ex was just brutally murdered.

The Next Day

Tracy, Amber and Kyle’s mom, comes into the police station with Kyle. Kyle apparently wants to confess about what happened. He is interviewed by Detective Rhonda Stroup, with his mom in the room. He tells her that Amber had Seath come to the house so that she could speak to him. Kyle then says that Michael shot Seath, and that he was dead.

Amber is also there, and is interviewed next. Amber said the same thing that Kyle did, but that she was an “innocent bystander.” Detective Stroup doesn’t buy it one bit. Amber said that she and Charlie locked themselves in the bathroom, and Michael apparently threatened them.

Next, Detective Stroup, has Amber, Charlie and Kyle in one room together and according to her on the episode, “Amber put on quite a performance.” The trio is heard talking about how they just murdered Seath, and that he’s not innocent. Kyle said, “Seath is not innocent, he threatened to hurt my sister and burn my house down.” Amber blames Michael for the whole thing one last time.

Detective Stroup comes back in and says they are all arrested for premeditated murder. Amber says “I’ll be f****** 20 by the time I get out.” (Probs not, Amber).

Bad news for Amber, they are tried as adults.

Arrests and Convictions

Michael Bargo was found hiding out at a friend’s house, and was charged with first degree murder.

Amber Wright, Charlie Eley, Justin Soto and Kyle Hooper are all charged with first degree murder, as well.

Michael Bargo was sentenced to death. His sentence is currently being looked at due to death sentences in Florida having to be an unanimous decision.

Amber Wright was sentenced to life in prison, and is eligible for parole after 40 years.

Kyle Hooper was sentenced to life in prison, and is eligible for parole after 40 years.

Charlie Eley was sentenced to life in prison without parole. She was represented by Jose Baez, also known as Casey Anthony’s lawyer.

Justin Soto took a plea deal for life in prison, to avoid the death penalty.

James Havens, Michael’s former step-dad, pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact. He testified at Michael’s trial, and said he was actually there that night when they were planning to kill Seath, but left because he was uncomfortable. (FIRST OF ALL, WHY ARE YOU HANGING OUT WITH TEENAGERS).

Other

Charlie Eley eventually pleaded guilty to second degree murder and was charged to 10 years in prison. She served 9 years in prison. Her attorney, Jose Baez said:

“It’s a bittersweet day. I’ve been fighting for her for eight years. I’m really happy that she’s getting out,” “But she’s forever scarred. This was a plea of convenience. She maintains her innocence, and the facts show she’s innocent.

I personally don’t think she should be released. It’s reported that she helped Amber lure Seath to her house. She should have gotten a life sentence just like the rest of them.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I have a lot of thoughts. This was tough to get through, considering how much torture this 15 year old went through. I think if Amber wouldn’t have texted him that night, he would be alive.

I agree with everything that Detective Stroup and Seath’s parents said about Amber, she is cold, manipulative and annoying. Piers asked her about how she was perceived after this case was in the media and after their convictions, and she says she’s not a monster and that she made a mistake. Piers seems to think she has remorse now, but I don’t agree.

Seath’s parents are angry, and they should be. These kids seemed to have HORRIBLE home lives, and also horrible personalities. I think revenge, mixed with drugs and alcohol caused this brutal death and they should all rot in prison forever.
